Port of Barry

The Port of Barry, nine miles west of Cardiff, is a key facility for the region's chemical industry, handling liquid bulks for major companies including Dow Corning. Barry also has considerable expertise in the handling of steel, scrap metal, containers, dry bulks, coal, and aggregates. The port has direct rail connections and a link road connects the port to Junction 33 of the M4.

  • Stern and three-quarter ramp discharge available for roro vessels 

Liquid bulks

  • Handles large volumes of liquid bulks for local chemical industry

  • Vopak provides 45,000 cu m of liquid bulk storage 

Steel and other metals

  • Provides both covered and outside storage facilities for steel cargoes

  • Recycled-metal import and export terminal with rail connection
